The Model 6450 series memory systems are designed to interface with a MIL-STD-1553 dual multiplex data bus, by means of a remote terminal employing a high-speed sequencer. A tape controller section receives both commands and data from the terminal and actuates the tape drive mechanism according to the direction of data flow (input or output), besides monitoring overall system performance.

Le [système de mémoire à ruban magnétique] modèle 6450 est conçu pour pouvoir être raccordé au multiplexeur de voies de données MIL-STD-1553 à l'aide d'un terminal à commande à distance avec séquenceur à grande vitesse.
